Getting the best fit for your Cancer Research UK Post-Surgery Comfort Bra
Read video transcript
Photographer: Everybody looking at me! Ladies, smile!
Serita: My name's Serita, and I am the Engagement Manager of the Cancer Care Products at Cancer Research UK. I'm here today to show you our bamboo post-op bra. Rosie has been wearing this bra through her surgery. And how does it feel, Rosie?
Rosie: It feels really supportive and really soft, so I've been able to wear it morning and night.
Serita: The bra is made of bamboo. The inside is completely seamless for the ultimate in comfort after surgery. You can wear it with your soft breast form which you insert into the pocket. You can also use it with the removable pad if you have had reconstruction, lumpectomy. It has adjustable straps and a three-hook front fastening.
Rosie: I really like how you've got the three hooks, because when you're swollen just after surgery, you can wear it looser. And then, as the swelling goes down, you can tighten it up.
Mary: It's great being able to adjust the straps from the front. It saves me from having to struggle at the back! I have got an implant, so usually my breasts are sort of lopsided, but I'm able to add a little bit of extra padding on this side just to even out my chest for if I'm wearing some really tight clothing.
Serita: As a start point for measuring the bra, we suggest that you go with your dress size. The bra has a ruching here [either side of the hook-and-eye fastening], which will stretch and accommodate up to an E cup. If you are above an E cup, we recommend that you go up a size in the bra.
Yasmin: I love it and it fits so comfortable underneath your breasts as well, which can be quite sore after the operation.
Esther: I don't like anything too fancy! I don't like too frilly. This is right up my street actually!
Serita: We feel really happy that it's available now for all patients to buy, and that all the profits are going back into breast cancer research.
